worth learning crochet for?

Take a look at these amazing crocheted hyperbolic models from the Institute for Figuring. Me and crochet have never got on well, but if we did, I'd definitely try out one of these.

Yes. Which is probably preferable to slug genitalia as Rosie calls it.

Actually, I'm using the phrase "sea creatures" now, being as wot I am making one for my mama for Xmas, and I am (of course) the most couth of ladies (as opposed to the most uncouth of crocheters) (blush...)
